First of all you have to take a bus to Kullu and get down at Bhunter (if you are coming from Chandigarh or Delhi) which is 9 km before Kullu. Bhunter is well known for Airport and diversion to Manikaran valley. There are frequent buses to Kasol, Manikaran and Barshaini from Bhuntar. Take any of these buses and get down at Jari. Jari is about 25 km from Bhunter and some 4 km before Kasol.

Way To Malana Village |
Beyond Jari, It is quite difficult to get a public transport to
Malana Village so you will have to hire a local jeep or Sumo for remaining journey to Malana Village. It will be pretty difficult to get a taxi from Jari to Malana, so I will recommend reaching Kasol first and then making a deal with Taxi driver. If you are going to Malana in your own vehicle then you have to register your vehicle at Jari entrance and then drive further to Malana Village.
Jari to Malana is about 20 km on somewhat unpaved road. Route to
Malana Village is beautiful in the back drop of snow covered mountains, waterfalls and rivulets flowing underneath. When you will cross Jari hydro power plant you will reach Malana hydro power plant and after that road turn really treacherous. After few km you will arrive at a point where you will see a gate stating Trek to Malana Village. Malana Village is some 4 km hike from this point and can usually be done in 80 minutes. If you have your vehicle then you can drive further more from this point on the same road which reaches much nearer to Malana village and in fact opens just opposite to Malana village. It just takes only 30 minutes to reach Malana Village from this point. In coming years the same road will reach Malana and then there won’t be any need for trekking to reach Malana Village.
